Rains lash part of Punjab, Haryana
Several parts of Punjab and Haryana were lashed by rainfall even as the minimum temperature rose five notches above normal.

The mercury hovered between five to one degrees Celsius above normal, the Met department said here today.
While Amritsar recorded a temperature at 8.4 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal, the minimum temperature at Bhiwani was 9.4 degrees Celsius. In the plains of Punjab and Haryana, Rohtak had a low of 9.3 degrees Celsius, which was one notch above normal, followed by 10.1 degrees Celsius each at Hisar and Karnal, two notches above normal, Ludhiana settled at a low of 10.4 degrees Celsius, four notches above normal.
Ambala recorded a temperature of 10.8 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal, while the minimum temperature at Patiala was 11.2 degrees Celsius, four notches above normal. Chandigarh settled at a low of 12.2 degrees Celsius, five notches above normal.
Rainfall lashed several parts of the region with Ludhiana recording 11.4 mm of rains, Blalchaur 11.3 mm, Garshankar 6 mm, Samrala and Khar 5 mm, Ropar 4 mm, Chandigarh 2.8 mm, Patiala 0.5 mm and Karnal 0.4 mm of rainfall.
The Met has forecasted dry weather with rise in minimum and maximum temperatures in the region during the next 24 hours.
