The Tigers got the better of Pakistan in the Asia Cup recently and their current form will be a source of concern for the latter.
Meanwhile, Pakistan will hope to bank on their bowlers to give them a victory, amidst all the incidents that have been surrounding the side. The Shahid Afridi-led side knows that their top-order will need to click and come good in order to increase their chances of a commendable outing.
Here are the players to watch out for in the tie at Eden Gardens.
Tamim Iqbal (Bangladesh): The left-handed opening batsman has been the cynosure of all eyes after taking the World T20 by storm in the qualifiers. Tamim is in sublime form and the pile of runs under his belt including a ton in the previous game, will do his confidence a world of good. Tamim's approach against a solid Pakistan bowling unit promises a cracker of a contest.
Shakib Al Hasan (Bangladesh): The experienced all-rounder is a key figure in the Bangladesh team and he knows the conditions of Eden Gardens very well. Shakib's stint with the Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League over the years, would be handy given his impact in the middle overs with both bat and ball. Shakib's application will be crucial for Bangladesh.
Mohammad Amir (Pakistan): The tainted Pakistani pacer has took all of his chances since his return to international cricket after a gap of five years. Amir's pace and movement early on against two left-handers in Tamim and Soumya Sarkar, could set the game for his side. Early wickets will be crucial and there is nobody better than Amir to use the conditions wisely.
Shoaib Malik (Pakistan): The senior batsman has been rock solid for his side in the middle-order and Pakistan will once again hope he comes good. Malik has defined his role in rotating the strike well and spending time in the middle, which is so crucial for a batting unit. Malik's confidence has been flowing of late and he needs to play another hand on Wednesday to show his mettle.
