As a build up to the match, Sushant first posted a photograph wearing Team India jersey and asked the fans to guess where he was headed to. "Guess where I am headed to..? See you soon," he tweeted.

The actor soon reached the stadium, from where he witnessed MS Dhoni's 80-run knock, where the skipper also stitched 151 runs for the third wicket with Virat Kohli (154*).

Dhoni promoted himself up in the battting order, at No. 4, and entertained the fans with some breathtaking strokes. Sushant soon posted one of the dialogues from the movie, "Hum bole the naa mahiya upar aayega to bahut maarega"

Sushant also congratulated Dhoni on completing 9000 ODI runs.

When one of the fans asked Sushant not to move from his seat as his presence for proving to be lucky for Dhoni, the actor replied, "Aaj humara mann itte mein se Khush hone waala Nahin he bhai #indvsnz #DhoniSushantOnField."
