It means along with Gary Kirsten, who is with the team on a 50-day-a-year contract, Hussey too will assist the Proteas for a brief period.

Considering the fact that Hussey played a lot of cricket in India, be it while representing Australia or IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK), it's certainly a smart move by the cricket board.

In fact, being part of the CSK outfit, South Africa's T-20 skipper Faf du Plessis also shared the dressing room with Mr cricket.

While taking about Hussey being the batting specialist of the T-20 side, Faf told ESPN Cricinfo that he was the best guy you can learn from. “Mike is such a good guy from a coaching point of view. He has got a great batting mind so the young batters coming into the team, he's the best guy you can learn from.

"He does all the right things. He trains hard and fits in beautifully into our team. I think we are very lucky to have him in our side," said Faf.
