Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Higher and Technical Education Minister, Laxmikant Sharma on Friday told the State Assembly that no provisions of UGC, Reservation and University Act were overlooked in the appointments made in the Makhanlal Chaturvedi National Journalism and Communications University. The matter was raised by Congress party`s Govind Singh during the Question Hour, which went off smoothly today after two-days of ruckus created by the Opposition leading to adjournment over the issue of arrest of Congress MLA, Kalpana Parulekar for allegedly morphing photgraph of RSS Head Mohan Bhagwat with MP Lokayukta, P P Naolekar.
He alleged that the General Council of the University has overlooked provisions of reservation and UGC guidelines in the appointment of two assistant professors aged over 65 years without publishing any advertisement and the University`s Registrar too has objected on it. However, Sharma said that as per the UGC guidelines a person upto the age of 70 years can be appointed as Professor and therefore, it cannot be said that rules were overlooked in the appointments.
Following intervention from Speaker Ishwardas Rohani, the Minister assured the member that in case he submits the complaint in writing, then he will get the matter probed within three months.
