Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Governor Ram Naresh Yadav on Tuesday said here that the state has achieved a growth rate of 10 per cent in the last three years and this amounted to unprecedented success.
The Governor, in his inaugural address to the Budget Session of the state Assembly also said that the growth rate in the agricultural sector was also much more than the average national growth.
"All this was the result of the hard work put in by the farmers in Madhya Pradesh and the long-term policies of the state government," Yadav said. He said there was unprecedented atmosphere for investment in the industrial sector and added that in the field of information technology, international companies had set their foot in the state for the first time.
The Governor said that to help in establishment of new industries, the state government has drawn up a plan for setting up nine industrial areas at a total cost of Rs 300 crore.
Due to ill-health, Yadav read only the first and the last paragraphs of his speech which was taken as read.
The motion of thanks for the Governor`s address was moved by Shankarlal Tiwari and it will be discussed in the house on February 23, 24 and 27.
