As reported previously, former captain and wicket-keeper Denesh Ramdin's has been left out from the 12-member team.

The 31-year-old tweeted last week that he was informed of his non-selection by new chairman of selectors Courtney Browne.

Ramdin's place has been given to 24-year-old Shane Dorwich. He has played two Test matches.

But the surprise call-up was that of 22-year-old uncapped middle-order batsman Roston Chase. The Barbadian's selection comes after an outstanding domestic season in which he scored 710 runs at an average of 59.16 and captured 23 wickets at 17.26 apiece with his handy off-spin in the Professional Cricket League.

Batsman Leon Johnson gained a recall, but experienced quicks Kemar Roach and Jerome Taylor have been left out.

Squad: Jason Holder (capt), Kraigg Brathwaite (vice-capt), Devendra Bishoo, Jermaine Blackwood, Carlos Brathwaite, Darren Bravo, Rajendra Chandrika, Roston Chase, Shane Dorwich (wk), Shannon Gabriel, Leon Johnson, Marlon Samuels
