Stockholm: WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has asked to change his lawyer in Sweden for the second time since he was accused of sex crimes in the Nordic country.
Lawyer Bjorn Hurtig said Assange replaced him on Saturday with lawyers Per Samuelsson and Thomas Olsson, though he declined to say why. Hurtig last year replaced Assange`s first lawyer. Samuelsson says he has a long track-record as a defence lawyer in sex crime cases and a thorough knowledge of Sweden`s sex-crime law. Assange was accused of rape, coercion and molestation following encounters with two Swedish women in August 2010 but has not been charged with any crime.
On Tuesday he made a last effort to stave off extradition to Sweden from Britain by filing an appeal request to Britain`s highest court.
