Kashmir Valley receives snow, rain
Higher reaches of the Kashmir Valley on Wednesday received snowfall while parts of the region recorded light to moderate rains, a MeT official said.

Higher mountainous reaches of the Kashmir Valley, including those surrounding the Gulmarg resort, have experienced snowfall, he said. Light to moderate rainfall was received in most parts of the Kashmir Valley with North Kashmir`s Kupwara town recording the maximum 19.2 mm rainfall, he said.
The skiing resort of Gulmarg, in North Kashmir`s Baramulla district, which continues to freeze under sub-zero temperatures, received 4.6 mm rainfall, the MeT official said.
The minimum temperature in Gulmarg was recorded at minus 2.3 degrees Celsius. Srinagar received 1.1 mm rainfall and the tourist resort of Pahalgam received 1.6 mm rainfall, he added.
Kashmir witnesses four months of chilling winter season, beginning November with day temperatures frequently slipping below the freezing point.
