IPL 9: Eric Simons likely to join Pune Supergiants as bowling coach

New Delhi: If reports are to be believed, then, former South African all-rounder Eric Simons is likely to join new Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Pune Supergiants as a bowling coach for the upcoming season of the cash-rich league.
A team source told PTI that talks are at an advanced stage with Simons, who previously worked with the Delhi Daredevils in various roles including of a head coach, besides coaching in the Caribbean Premier League.
Simons had also worked as Team India bowling coach for two years, before being replaced in 2012.
Pune is one of the two new teams to feature in the IPL.
The team will be captained by Mahendra Singh Dhoni and head coach will be Stephen Fleming, who was with the India captain at the now suspended Chennai Super Kings.
The 9th edition of the league is beginning from April 9.
