Indian Premier League: New franchises separate MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina
The upcoming edition of the Twenty20 league will be held from April 9 to May 29.
New Delhi: For the first time, India's limited-overs skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni and all-rounder Suresh Raina will be seen playing for two different franchises in the history of the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL).

This has been decided on Tuesday during the Players' draft when two new franchises – Pune and Rajkot – picked their core team members from the suspended IPL teams, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR).

Raina who has always played under the captaincy of Dhoni in the IPL since its inception has been picked by Rajkot. On the other hand, CSK skipper was the foremost choice of Pune, who had the advantage of picking the first player.

However, Ravichandran Aswhin win still play under MSD, who has been picked for 12.5 crores.
Rajkot: Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja, Brendon McCullum, James Faulkner, Dwayne Bravo,
Pune: MS Dhoni, R Ashwin, Ajinkya Rahane, Steve Smith, Faf du Plessis
Remaining players from the suspended franchises will now go to the general IPL auction scheduled for February 6.
The next edition of the Twenty20 league will be held from April 9 to May 29.
