The 27-year-old's wedding to Reeva Solanki, an UPSC aspirant, today drew unwanted controversy after celebratory gunshots forced a team from Lodhika Police Station to visit the venue.

Pre-wedding rituals were carried out yesterday at a hotel in Rajkot.

Jaddu's sisters — Nainaba and Padminiba along with other female members of the family performed these rituals, which included vedic chants by priests and wedding songs sung by ladies.

The all-rounder's close friends MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Dwayne Bravo and other Indian players will arrive in Rajkot to attend Jadeja's reception.

Jadeja and Solanki got engaged in the first week of February earlier this year.
