Patna: Putting at rest the speculation about Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi attending senior BJP leader L K Advani`s anti-corruption rath yatra starting from Bihar, Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi on Friday said only Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar has been invited for the programme. "No chief minister except Nitish Kumar has been invited for the flag off function of Advani`s anti-corruption rath yatra to be held at Sitabdiari village - Jai Prakash Narayan`s native village - on October 11," he told reporters.
"It is a state level function and so there is no need to invite the chief ministers of other states," Sushil Modi, a senior BJP leader, said.
The chief ministers of BJP-ruled governments will welcome Advani`s rath yatra when it enter their states, he said.
Modi said BJP`s national president Nitin Gadkari has informed that the top party leaders including Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj, M M Joshi, Rajnath Singh will attend the flag off function of Advani`s rath yatra. Referring to Advani`s programmes in Bihar, Modi said that the former will arrive in Patna after beginning of his rath yatra where he will address a public meeting before leaving for Gaya on the way to Jharkhand.
