Kieron Pollard becomes 4th West Indies batsman to hit 100 sixes in ODIs
He now joins West Indian greats Vivian Richards, Brian Lara and Chris Gayle in the list.
New Delhi: Kieron Pollard achieved the feat during the first ODI against South Africa at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on Thursday.
New Delhi: Hard-hitting batsman Kieron Pollard became the fourth West Indies batsmen to hit 100 sixes in One-Day Internationals (ODI). The 29-year-old achieved the feat during Windies' four-wicket win over South Africa in the opening match of the ODI tri-series, also involving Australia.
Chasing South Africa's paltry total of 188 at Guayana, the right-handed middle-order batsman was summoned early as Imran Tahir removed both the Windies openers in quick succession. On a difficult top, Pollard batted sensibly but at the same time showing his prowess. For that matter of fact, his innings started with a bang, hitting sixes.
He remained unbeaten on 67 off 67 balls with six sixes and two fours.
