According to a report in ANI, Lalit Modi will continue to remain president of the (RCA) after BJP leader Amin Pathan withdrew his no-confidence motion against the former on Tuesday.

RCA vice-president Pathan withdrew the motion before retired Justice Gyan Sudha Mishra just after nine months when he had ousted Modi by way of a no-confidence motion.

Justice Mishra is expected to announce the formal withdrawal of the motion on Wednesday.

Lalit Modi looked forward to making RCA the best and most forward thinking as he had stated on Twitter.

Meanwhile, according to a report in the Indian Express, BCCI official had stated that Modi’s return as president will change nothing on the ground as the RCA will continue to remain suspended as long as he is attached to the association.

Pathan stated on Tuesday stated that the sport has stopped in districts and players were suffering because of that.

He also added that the Modi faction are used to litigation and the decision to withdraw the motion was in the interest of cricket.

In May 2015, the BCCI had suspended the RCA just after Modi was elected its president. With Modi returning to the helm, the tension between the two boards could rise once again.
