Lucknow: Basking in the glory of an impressive show in the Uttar Pradesh elections, Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav said the party will fulfill the promises made to the people in its manifesto after taking over the reigns of the state.
Yadav, son of SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav and an “obvious choice” of the SP for the post of next Chief Minister, was speaking exclusively to Zee News.
“In our manifesto we have made promises to rebuild Uttar Pradesh. Our primary responsibility is to fulfill those promises. We will work hard to fulfill those promises”, he said. Yadav thanked the people of Uttar Pradesh for “restoring faiths” in SP.
The SP`s young leader said that people of Uttar Pradesh have voted for SP by rising above the caste and religion factors.
“Mayawati had squandered away the huge mandate she got five years ago. The result is a fitting reply to the Mayawati-led BSP,” he said. In a stern message to the unruly elements inside his own party, he said, “Now onwards the SP won’t tolerate any gundaraj in the state.”
