Morne Morkel rubbishes AB de Villiers retirement rumours
Reports in South African media claimed that de Villiers is considering retirement from Test cricket.
New Delhi: Morne Morkel on Sunday rubbished reports in South African media which claimed that fellow cricketer AB de Villiers is considering retire from Test cricket at the end of the England series.
"I think it is a story. He is still very keen to play for South Africa and to break records," Morkel was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo.
Earlier, Rapport, an Afrikaans newspaper reported that several of de Villiers' current and former team-mates revealed to them that "events in recent years have led him to seriously reconsider his Test future."
South Africa are hosting England in a four-Test, five-ODI and two-T20I series. And de Vilier is expected to lead the Proteas in the limited overs format.
Earlier this week, he won the ODI Cricketer of the Year 2015 award.
