Jamnagar (Guj): A minor girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by three persons at knife-point and was robbed off her belongings at Gulabnagar locality, police said on Monday.
The incident took place last night when the 16-year-old victim was returning with her male companion after attending a function at K V Road, they said. According to police, when the girl and her friend were passing through Gulabnagar, the trio attacked them and forced the minor to come with them before thrashing her friend.
The accused after raping the girl snatched away her mobile phone and cash before fleeing from the spot, police said.
`A` Division Nagar Police who registered the complaint today said the minor has been sent for medical examination at G G government hospital here and are awaiting medical report. Police Inspector Samir Joshi said a search was on to trace the three miscreants.
