Viru recently brought curtains down on his international and IPL career. Hence, the KXIP management is contemplating a new role at the organization for the former India opener.

“We have not decided what role he will have for the side but we want to stay associated with him. The talks are on. The mentor’s role is possibility,” a KXIP director told Mumbai Mirror.

The explosive opener was acquired by the Punjab franchise for 3.2 crore in the 2014 player's auction.

Sehwag is hugely respected by the younger players at KXIP and him coming on board as a mentor will definitely serve as a boost to them.
