But at a recent literary festival, many unknown facets of the batting maestro -- including a matter-of-fact statement to Ian Chappell -- was revealed to the amazement of the gathering.


At the 'Unknown Sachin Tapes' session, Tendulkar's rather animated conversation with Chappell was played out, wherein the Indian slammed Australian legend and said, " You guys conveniently change your tone. Your brother (Greg, ex-India coach) created all the problem. He took Indian cricket at least five years behind."


It's worth noting that Ian had written - during a particularly low point in Tendulkar's career - that the batsman should have a look in the "mirror" and considered retirement.
