NorthEast came good on a classy entertaining affair at home and have played their part so far to keep themselves in contention to finish ahead of Chennaiyin.
Interestingly, Chennaiyin's last league game is against FC Pune City who lost against NorthEast on Wednesday. Chennaiyin are in good form and their in-form striker Stiven Mendoza has put the side on a position of advantage in this crucial juncture of the season.
Chennaiyin thrashed Mumbai City FC 3-0 on Tuesday and have a healthier goal difference as compared to NorthEast. The Highlanders will hope Pune manage to pull off a miracle and beat Chennaiyin but on current form the latter look favourites.
The final match for Chennaiyin will be a tense affair and their nerves will be put to test on December 5 in Pune as they travel away.
Stiven Mendoza will be their key man and Chennaiyin will hope the Colombian delivers for them on the given day to see them through to the last four.
