ISL 2015: NorthEast United vs FC Goa - Players to watch out for
NorthEast United will take on a strong FC Goa side at home in the Indian Super League today.
New Delhi: NorthEast United will take on a strong FC Goa side at home which promises to be an exciting battle in match No. 12 on Thursday in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2015 at the Indira Gandhi Stadium, Guwahati.
The Highlanders are looking for their first victory in this season's ISL. The side have lost both their opening two games and lie on the last position in the table.
Zico's FC Goa meanwhile, need to get back their zeal after losing the previous game against Chennaiyin FC by a 0-4 margin.
Since both teams are desperate for a victory, it will be a pivotal match in context to how their campaigns might shape up from here on.
We look at players who could make a major impact in the game for both the teams.
Nicolas Velez (NorthEast United FC): The Highlanders have a lot of hope on striker Nicolas Velez to give them a favourable result at home. Velez who played the last game in a bandaged state, is a sheer worker for the side. Velez will hope for good link-up play with Silas and Diomansy Kamara. Also feeding in good passes and crosses for Velez remain vital for the side.
Joffre (FC Goa): Joffre with all his experience provides a much needed composure for Goa FC. The attacking midfielder will look to penetrate and mark an influence in the game. The defensive structure of NorthEast will need to be weary of Joffre's ability and will want to be tough to break down. Joffre who has familiarities with the atmosphere in Guwahati, will look to use it in a good way.
