New Delhi: AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli has undergone an operation on his groin that will keep him out of Serie A action for a month at least.

The Italian international who is on a season loan from Liverpool, has not played for Milan since end of September having had treatment to address the issue with his injury.


After the surgery, Balotelli wrote on Instagram: "All done! All good! Coming back soon."


The Italian club stated on their website that, AC Milan communicate that Mario Balotelli underwent surgery in Munich. The operation was technically successful and the recovery time is around four weeks, assuming there are no complications.



Balotelli has made just four Serie A appearances in his second spell at Milan, and has scored one goal.


Milan are in sixth place in Serie A.
