The Australian Govt. is expected to confirm the match in coming weeks, as per News Corp Australia reports.

This superclasico de las Americas fixture has been introduced in the year 2011, since than they only played once at Beijing's national stadium two years ago, which was won by Brazil 2-0.

The match would expect to bring football's biggest names on one platform, which includes Argentine captain Lionel Messi, Brazil star Neymar, David Luiz, Sergio Aguero, Angel Di Maria, and Carlos Tevez.

This would also be Messi's second match at MCG, after Argentina defeated Socceroos 1-0 back in 2007.

The 2016 Olympic gold medalist and five times world champions Brazil look strong considering their recent results at major tournaments. They also top the qualifying table of 2018 South American FIFA World Cup.

On the other hand, Messi-led Argentina look a bit shaky as they have very poor record in the recent major events, where they have been thrashed in straight three international finals - 2014 FIFA World Cup, 2015 Copa America, and 2016 Copa America.

This match is seen as big step for the future of Australian football as the country has already hosted the matches for Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Liverpool.
