Brazil legend Pele marries for 3rd time
The 75-year-old Brazilian tied the knot with his 50-year-old Japanese fiancee Marcia Cibele Aoki.
New Delhi: Pele, regarded as the greatest football player ever, reportedly got married for a third time this weekend in a private religious ceremony before family and a small group of friends.
According to a report in Efe, the 75-year-old Brazilian tied the knot with his 50-year-old Japanese fiancee Marcia Cibele Aoki, a businesswoman of Japanese descent, at an upscale banquet hall in Guaruja, a city on the coast of Sao Paulo state.
The wedding dinner was prepared by Odilinha Hoehne, one of the most famous chefs in the neighbouring city of Santos, with the decorations by Pupy Zogaib.
Their wedding ceremony had to be postponed after the legendary footballer suffered health problems. They are believed to be together for the last six years.
This was Pele's third marriage and the three-time World Cup winner has three children with his first wife Rosimeri Cholbi and two with his second, gospel singer Assiria Nascimento.
Pele's marriage to Cholbi lasted 12 years, while Nascimento's lasted another 14 years.
