Naxals kill two of their own men in Gadchiroli
A group of armed Naxals allegedly killed two of their own members in a village in adjoining Gadchiroli district this morning, police said.
Devsay Usendi (25) and Ram Narote (45) were residents of Markegaon village in Korchi taluka.
The Naxals picked both of them from their houses in the wee hours. Their bodies were later found on Markegaon- Sawargaon Road, they said.
Usendi and Narote were President and member respectively of Area Sangam Committee of Naxalites, police said, adding reason behind the murders was not yet known.
Police, however, said there was no information about kidnapping of 10 to 12 villagers from Markegaon. Earlier it was reported that after killing Usendi and Narote, the Maoists took 10 to 12 villagers to a nearby jungle.
API Santosh Ghatekar, who is Gadchiroli Police PRO, said that no reliable information was available on abduction of villagers.
