Chelsea striker Diego Costa charged with `violent conduct` by FA
Chelsea striker Diego Costa has found himself in yet another trouble as he was charged with violent conduct by the Football Association.
New Delhi: Chelsea striker Diego Costa has found himself in yet another trouble as he was charged with violent conduct by the Football Association.
The announcement came on Monday after the English Football Association reviewed footage of Chelsea's 2-0 win over Arsenal on Saturday.
A statement issued by the governing body read, "Off the ball incidents which are not seen at the time by the match officials are referred to a panel of three former elite referees."
In a match where Costa was involved in several altercations with the Arsenal players, the 26-year-old put his hands in the face of Arsenal centre-back Laurent Koscielny prior to clashing with their defender Gabriel, who was sent off.
The FA has also charged Gabriel with improper conduct and both clubs with failing to control their players.
Arsenal are to appeal Gabriel's dismissal and three-match ban.
Costa had earlier served a three-match ban for violent conduct last season and he could now face another lengthy punishment if found guilty.
