Madrid: Star striker Cristiano Ronaldo, who was named UEFA`s Best Player in Europe, has reiterated his desire to call curtains on his illustrious career at Real Madrid.

Describing Real Madrid as `the best club in the world`, the Portugal international revealed that his plan is to extend his contract and carry on at the Santiago Bernabeu till the age of 41.


"I`m at the best club in the world and I want to retire here, at 41.


I want to retire at Real Madrid because it`s the best club in the world. My objective is to extend my contract and stay at the club I love. I want to keep playing at this level and I`ll work hard to achieve it, just like I do every year. I hope I can win more titles. I`m proud of the European Cup and the Euros, I cried both times," Ronaldo was quoted as saying by goal.com.


Earlier, Ronaldo bagged the gong for the second time ahead of Madrid teammate Gareth Bale and Atletico Madrid`s Antoine Griezmann.Ronaldo, whose contract with Madrid expires in June 2018, inspired Real Madrid to the Champions League glory with a 5-3 win over Atletico Madrid in a dramatic penalty shootout before winning Euro 2016 with Portugal following a 1-0 win after extra time against host France.
