Muktsar: A surveillance team of the Election
Commission on Wednesday conducted a search at the house of a
confidant of Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal at
Kolianwala village in Lambi constituency of this district.
The team, on a tip off, searched the premises of SGPC member and Kolianwala village head Dyal Singh for around four hours.
Officials said the team did not recover any document but found Rs 1.5 lakh, which was accounted for by the residents, and some drugs from the house. The drugs had been handed over to police, officials said.
Condemning the raid, Badal, who is seeking re-election from Lambi, said it was not a search at the residence of his associate but amounted to be a search at his own residence as part of a "Congress conspiracy".
