New Delhi: Delhi Lokayukta on Wednesday directed the Sheila Dikshit government to file a report on the allegations of irregularities in giving provisional regularisation certificates to certain unauthorised colonies.
Lokayukta Justice Manmohan Sarin asked Urban Development Department and Revenue Department to file a report by December 23 regarding handing out provisional regularisation certificates to Radha Krishna Vihar, Abul Fazal Enclave II, Kotla Mahigram and Shakti Enclave colonies in 2008. The notice to the government by the Lokayukta came in response to a complaint filed with it by former MLA Rambir Singh Bidhuri. Bidhuri in his complaint alleged gross misuse of power and encroachment of public land for getting provisional regularisation certificates in the colonies concerned.
The Urban Development department, which was directed by Lt Governor Tejendra Khanna and Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit to probe the allegations, has submitted its report in which it mentioned flouting of norms by resident welfare associations of four colonies.
Sources had said city government was all set to cancel the provisional regularisation certificates issued to these four colonies and FIR may also be registered against them for misrepresenting facts to the government.
The government had issued provisional regularisation certificate to 1,639 unauthorised colonies in 2008 and now has started the process to regularise them. PTI
