With 142 points, India are currently ranked 160th in the FIFA ranking.


India's 1-0 World Cup qualifier win against Guam, then winning the 2015 South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Championship beating Afghanistan 2-1 in the final helped India's cause.


Belgium continue to occupy the top spot with 1506 points, ahead of Argentina (1457), Spain (1374), Germany (1355) and Chile (1307).


Brazil, Portugal, Colombia, England and Austria complete the top-10 rankings in the latest release.


Iran, 44th with 627 points, is the highest ranked Asian country.
