Woman, daughter-in-law appear for exams
The duo out of their desire to gain knowledge, recently appeared in school examinations.
Kotdwar: The good old saying "where there is a will, there is a way" fits completely into the case of 65-year-old Bicha and her daughter-in-law, who, out of their desire to gain knowledge, recently appeared in school examinations here.
While Bicha recently appeared for class 3 examinations under the centrally-funded Mahila Samakhya project, her daughter-in-law Meena (35) is also hoping to clear her class 8 exams. Terming it an enthusiastic trend, programme coordinator Preeti Thapaliyal said several initiatives have been taken to encourage the women towards education and change their age-old mindsets. Such developments will surely inspire other women to come forward and enroll themselves for schooling, she said.
