New Delhi: Japanese midfielder Katsumi Yusa has extended his contract with I-League champions Mohun Bagan for another two years.

The 26-year-old Yusa had a strong season with the I-League champions, scoring seven goals and four assists.


He made his debut in India in 2011 with ONGC where he scored 12 goals in two seasons helping his club gain promotion back into the I-League first division in 2013. Prior to moving to India, Katsumi played with Paraguayan Division Intermedia side San Lorenzo.


"Katsumi Yusa has been a vital part of our squad since he has joined and has contributed to the team's success over the past two seasons. As a club we are very pleased to have re-signed Katsumi Yusa," Mohun Bagan Finance Secretary Debashis Dutta was quoted as saying in a release.


International sports agency Libero Sports facilitated Yusa's extension of contract with Mohun Bagan.
