Arrest for attempted police murder in UK riots
The Metropolitan Police say a man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder of two cops.
London: The Metropolitan Police say a man
has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder of two
police officers during riots in London on August 8.
The two officers were hit by a green Citroen driven
directly at them at high speed early in the morning as police
were dealing with reports of looting at the Aristocrats
clothing store.
Police said today that both officers were hospitalised
and are now recovering at their homes. One suffered knee and
leg injuries and one had shoulder injuries.
Police said a 28-year-old man is in custody after being
arrested today. Another suspect was arrested earlier and set
free on bail as investigations continue.
