New Delhi: Paris Saint-Germain manager Laurent Blanc signed for French champions in a new has two-year contract to put an end to speculation over his future.

PSG announced the news in a statement published on their official Twitter account.



Blanc had originally signed on Wednesday, a few hours before his side beat Lyon 3-0 in the last 16 of the Coupe de France.


Blanc who was in the final few months of his current deal, had been discussing a fresh agreement since the end of last year. This comes as a fresh source of confidence for the former France boss whose leaders take on Premier League side Chelsea in the last 16 of the Champions League next week.


Blanc said that it has been an honour for him to work for such an ambitious club.


"It is with great pleasure that I have just extended my contract as coach of Paris Saint-Germain. I would like to thank the club for the faith that has been put in me. Since the beginning, I have felt honoured to work for such an ambitious club and it is extremely satisfying to coach such talented players.


PSG are vying for a host of trophies this season and will hope to land the prestigious Champions League.
