In a pre-match press ahead of Borussia Monchengladbach clash, the Spaniard said he would not fit in Madrid.

"No, no. That would not be good. We would not be a good fit," he said.

Guardiola had a chequered history with Madrid during his reign at Barcelona. As a part of the fabled Barca-Madrid rivalry, which translates into El Clasico in the field, the former Spain midfielder had led to many nerve-wrecking games. He became the first Barca manager to beat Madrid four time in a row in El Clasico.

Besides the Madrid link, Guardiola is also being linked to a move to England, with Manchester City and Manchester United said to be interested.

His three-year contract at Bayern is due to expire at the end of the season and the German giants are expected to announce a decision on their future before the arrival of new year.

Meanwhile, Madrid under Rafa Benetiz are going through a tough time. After a 0-4 drubbing in the season's first Clasico ar home, Los Blancos have been ejected from Copa del Rey for fielding an ineligibale player.

In the league, they are six point adrift leaders Barca and 2 points from second placed Atletico after end of round 13.
