Jaipur: Gujjar leader Kirori Singh Bainsla called off a sit-in and postponed a march to the Pink City, proposed for on Wednesday, to press for quota in government jobs due to his hospitalisation.
Bainsla`s close aide Harprasad said the sit-in, which began on Sunday in Dausa, has been called off after consultations with the Gujjar leader. "Bainsla is not keeping well. He also has to attend a religious function on November 27 in Dausa. Taking all these into consideration he has called off the sit-in and postponed the march," he said.
The decision on the next date for the agitation would be taken soon, Harprasad said. Bainsla was admitted to a private hospital at Sikar road here yesterday after he complained of uneasiness.
"Doctors have advised Bainsla complete rest for a couple of days and he is likely to be discharged soon," Harprasad said.
On Sunday, Bainsla had announced a sit-in in Dausa district`s Bhandarej area and a march to Jaipur from there if the government did not fulfill the demands for five per cent reservation for Gujjars in government jobs and withdrawal of cases against those involved in previous quota stirs. PTI
