24 items banned from NATO supply transit list
Pakistan had shut its NATO supply routes after a deadly US air raid that killed 24 Pakistani soldiers on November 26 last year
Islamabad: Pakistan and the US have compiled a list of 24 banned transit items after reaching an agreement on the NATO container transit and the customs general order.
A 12-page document consists of two pages of a "negative list" which states items that will be banned from transit through Pakistan to Afghanistan in NATO containers, The Express Tribune said. The list includes all small arms and light weapons, anti-tank weapons, all types of mortars, drones, laser weapons systems, pulse laser systems, chemical and nuclear weapons among others.
If the Afghan force requires capacity building weapons, then prior approval for transit will be taken through the Central Coordination Authority (CCA), a NATO monitoring authority that the two countries have agreed upon. Agents will also have to pay 250 dollars as fees for container clearance, which will be added to the treasury.
