Bangalore: Terming as heinous and unpardonable crime the attack on girls at a home stay in Mangalore allegedly by members of a Hindu outfit, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister R Ashok today said strict action will be taken against the culprits.

"The attack on girls is a heinous and unpardonable crime and the government will not tolerate anybody taking the law into their hands. We will take strict action against those who carried out the attacks," he told reporters after discussions over the issue with Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar here. "The attackers should introspect whether the attack was right or wrong," he added. Eight persons have been arrested in connection with the attack on girls and boys at the homestay. The government rushed ADGP Bipin Gopalakrishna to Mangalore and imposed prohibitory orders in that city, where suspected activists of Hindu Jagarane Vedike carried out the attack last night, alleging that it was a rave party at the homestay where illegal activities were going on.
