Sotogrande (Spain): SSP Chowrasia was the lone Indian to avoid an over-par with an even-par 71 in the final round to sign off a creditable ninth in the Andalucia Valderrama Masters golf tournament here.
Chowrasia ended his campaign with a total of three-over 287.
Among the other Indians in fray, Jeev Milkha Singh (76) was the next best-placed at tied 14th with a total of five-over 289.
Shiv Kapur finished in the bottom half of the leaderboard at tied 44th after a horrendous six-over 77 left his overall score at 12-over 296 at the Club de Golf Valderrama. Chowrasia pulled off a couple of birdies and an eagle against four bogeys on the final day but Jeev failed to gain a single stroke and stumbled to five bogeys. Kapur`s disappointing card included five bogeys and a double bogey against just one birdie.
Ireland`s Graeme McDowell (74) grabbed the title by two strokes with a total of three-under 281. PTI
