New Delhi: Indian colts thrashed arch-rivals Pakistan 6-2 in the final of the 2015 Junior Asia Cup hockey tournament in Kuantan, Malaysia on Sunday.
Inspirational drag-flicker Harmanpreet Singh scored a quartet, with the first goal coming as early as the 10th minute of the first quarter. In the half-time, India took a 3-1 lead, with Harmanpreet completed his hat-trick in the 30th minute.
Pakistan got their first goal in the 28th minute with a field goal by Muhammad Yaqoob.
Harendra Singh's boys, unbeaten in the tournament so far, then scored three more goals, with Pakistan's Muhammad Dilber scoring their second goal just two minutes before the final hooter at the Wisma Belia Hockey Stadium.
Harmanpreet scored his fourth and India's sixth goal in the 53 minute. Armaan Qureshi and Manpreet were other scorers for India.
Harmanpreet also became the highest scorer of the tournament with a tally of 15 goals.
