BJP for President`s Rule in Arunachal Pradesh
BJP national general secretary Tapir Gao has urged PM Manmohan Singh and Congress president to invoke President`s Rule in Arunachal Pradesh.
Itanagar: BJP national general secretary
Tapir Gao has urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress
president Sonia Gandhi to invoke Article 356 (1) to promulgate
President’s Rule in Arunachal Pradesh to "bring an end to the
on-going political crisis in the state".
Gao in two separate memoranda drew the attention of the
duo that the "state has plunged into lawlessness for want of
governance due to internal feuds and infighting among the
ministers, parliamentary secretaries and MLAs of the ruling
Congress".
The party had sent observers for gauging the mood of the party legislators on the demand for a change of leadership.
Though this is an internal matter of the party, but why will the people suffer and be deprived of their share of development and essential PDS commodities for failure to repair the roads damaged during the last monsoon, Gao said.
He alleged that violence, killings, kidnappings and frequent bandh calls have become the order of the day creating "fear psychosis and insecurity" in the minds of the people while all developmental works have come to a standstill. The prolonged indecisiveness to resolve the prevailing leadership crisis is "an anti-people attitude and a mockery of democracy", Gao said.
