`Names of Cong leaders figure in black money list`
Parkash Singh Badal alleged that the Congress-led UPA government was not disclosing the list of people who have stashed black money abroad.
Gidderbaha: Punjab Chief Minister
Parkash Singh Badal on Thursday alleged that the Congress-led UPA
government was not disclosing the list of people who have
stashed black money abroad, as names of many Congress leaders
figure in it.
"A huge amount of Rs 6,500 lakh crore have been hoarded by many affluent people, which include senior Congress leaders, illegally in foreign banks. Unfortunately, the Centre is not taking any genuine step to get it back," Badal alleged. The chief minister was speaking to reporters at a sangat darshan programme here.
The UPA government is "shielding" people who have stashed their illegally accumulated wealth in foreign countries, the chief minister claimed.
Attacking the government on populist issues, Badal said that it is regrettable that even now the Union government was planning for another hike in the prices of petrol which would further affect the common man. Any such fresh increase in the prices of petrol would further accentuate inflationary trends, he said. PTI
