The 17-year-old started in pole position at the Misano circuit and he came home ahead of Portugal`s Miguel Oliveira (KTM) and another Italian, Niccolo Antonelli, on a Honda.

For the fast-rising Bastianini it was his first Grand Prix win in what was his 31st start. He was the seventh different winner in the 13 Grands Prix contested so far this year at the Moto3 level.

The Italian consolidated his second place in the standings, but he is still 55 points adrift of runaway leader Danny Kent of Britain, who could only place sixth on Sunday.
