Clean up sport: Ministry asks IOA, NSFs to disclose information
The ministry also announced November 30 as the last date to disclose the details of various activities like selection criteria, audited accounts and constitution.
New Delhi: The Sports Ministry on Friday asked Indian Olympic Association (IOA) and National Sports Federations (NSFs) to fully comply with suo moto disclosure of their activities, in an attempt to bring transparency in working of sports federations.
The ministry also announced November 30 as the last date to disclose the details of various activities like selection criteria, core probables, audited accounts, constitution and many others carried out by IOA and NSFs on their websites.
Earlier, in February 2015, the ministry asked the IOA and NSFs to disclose the details of various activities carried out by them. But some NSFs and the IOA have only partly complied, as all the information has not been placed by them on their website. Some NSFs have either not placed any information or do not have websites.
"IOA and NSFs have again been advised by the ministry to take necessary steps to fully comply with the instructions on suo moto disclosure. Last date for completion of the task is 30.11.2016 failing which renewal of recognition of the concerned NSFs for the year 2017 may be reviewed by the ministry," the ministry said in a statement.
"The ministry has noticed that only a few NSFs have fully complied with the directions. Some NSFs and IOA have partly complied, as all the information has not been placed by them on their website. Some NSFs have either not placed any information or do not have websites," it added.
