Fide-rated Mangalore Open Chess from tomorrow
Over 400 players, including Grand Masters from across the country would vie for top honours in the 11-round Karnataka Bank 3rd Mangalore All-India Open Fide Rated Chess Tournament beginning from Monday.
Mangalore: Over 400 players, including Grand Masters from across the country would vie for top honours in the 11-round Karnataka Bank 3rd Mangalore All-India Open Fide Rated Chess Tournament beginning from Monday.
GM Praveen Thipsay (Mumbai) Woman GM Aarathi Ramaswamy, GM Meenakshi, I M Varghese Koshi, IM R R Laxman (all Tamil Nadu), IM Ratnakaran of Southern Railways, Thej Kumar (Karnataka) and former National B champion Balasubramanyam would be among those taking part in the meet being organised by South Kanara District Chess Association.
The tournament, carrying a total cash prize of Rs three lakh, would be played under Fide rules with each round of four hour duration, organisers said.
