The star attraction, however, will be Bollywood superstar Amir Khan, who plays the role of Geeta's onscreen father Mahavir Singh Phogat in upcoming wrestling biopic Dangal.

It was earlier reported that Amir will gift Geeta her bridal outfit. The actor arrived in Balali today for the wedding with his gifts.

In 2012, Geeta became the first Indian woman wrestler to qualify for the Olympics. Two years earlier, she won gold medal in the 55kg freestyle event at Delhi Commonwealth Games, another first in Indian wrestling.

Her sister Babita and cousin Vinesh are also world class wrestlers. They have won a Commonwealth Games gold medal each, besides other international laurels.

In Dangal, which is based on her and her sister's lives, the wrestler's role is played by Fatima Sana Shaikh.

The wedding is taking place in Charkhi Dadri, situated about 15km from their home in Haryana's Balali village.
