50 HMK activists arrested for hotel siege
Fifty Hindu Makkal Katchi workers were arrested today when they tried to enter a reputed hotel here in protest against its proposed `obscene` dance show, part of programmes got up for New Year celebrations on December 31.

The hotel had announced the programme agenda, included a dance, which the activists claimed were obscene and sought cancellation of such `westernised culture`, police said. HMK workers raised slogans against the hotel management and tried to enter it, but were prevented by police, who arrested all of them. PTI
