NSFs need to learn from its overseas counterparts: Sarbananda Sonowal
Sports Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Friday said that Indian sports federations should learn from its overseas counterparts to prepare athletes for the Rio Olympics next year.
New Delhi: Sports Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Friday said that Indian sports federations should learn from its overseas counterparts to prepare athletes for the Rio Olympics next year.
"In a meeting I took note of the all the federations yesterday, I stressed on the point that we need to learn from different federations (of other countries) how best we can earn 15 medals from the Olympics," Sonowal said on the opening of 8th Asian Air Gun Championships here.
Sonowal had earlier said that India can win at least 10 medals in the Rio Games.
"Our target is to win more medals in the Rio Olympics. I think we can win 10-plus medals," he said.
