New Delhi: Two Indian hockey greats - BP Govinda and Mohammed Shahid - are fighting their toughest battle till date.

According to a report on NDTV, the 65-year-old Govinda is currently in a Bengaluru hospital.
He was part of the 1975 Men's Hockey World Cup winning hockey team. He also featured at three Asian Games and played at the World Hockey XI in 1972.
Govinda, no longer in the ICU, still has traces of blood in his lungs. He was ruished to the hospital after breaking ribs post a fall.

On the other hand, Shahid has been admitted to a Gurgaon hospital. He complained of severe stomach pain and was diagnoised with chronic liver disease.
The 56-year-old was part of India's 1980 Olympics team, awarded Padma Shri in 1986.
While the doctors are doing the needful, Indian hockey fans continue to pray for these two former captains.
